After nine-year-old Irish-American Helen’s grandmother dies in 1911 and her uncle, a well-meaning yet self-absorbed and hypocritical priest, becomes her guardian, Helen’s life spirals into chaos. Several progressive women, including Olive the daughter of a suffragist from next door, enter Helen’s world and teach her that being a woman is much more than what her uncle, society, or her religion have decreed. Helen is challenged to break free from her uncle’s stifling grasp and to be with those she now considers family all while discovering the meaning of sisterhood, friendship, and resiliency forever redefining her future and the future of those around her.

WHERE the MAGNOLIA BLOOM is the sequel to The Girls's From Magnolia Street and commences where the first book concludes all from Olive's point of view. The story covers the years 1915-1917 once again highlighting the suffrage movement.

About Aimee

THE GIRLS FROM MAGNOLIA STREET-my debut novel (no release date set)

I try to write about things that have significant meaning to me and can educate and influence people positively. THE GIRLS FROM MAGNOLIA STREET was inspired by a 12-page memoir my Irish Catholic grandmother, Helen, wrote for her seven grandchildren. Helen's young life was so extraordinary that I wanted others to experience the oppressive gender norms of the time and see how women were able to triumph. The suffrage movement was the perfect setting for this historical fiction in Rochester, NY in the 1910s.

THE LITTLE BUTTERFLY-my debut children's book (available 11/20/23 where books are sold)

THE LITTLE BUTTERFLY: FOR YOUNG HEARTS WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED LOSS, A Mom's Choice Gold Awards Recipient was a promise kept from over fifteen years ago when we lost Aliza in a midterm pregnancy. (Don't ever underestimate the heartache of a miscarriage.) The poem used in this book was written the morning of our loss. I used it to not only help myself with the immense pain and disappointment but to explain what happened in a gentle way to our two young children who were looking forward to having a little sister. It has colorful illustrations and a large memory section for children to capture the memories of their deceased loved one, human or animal, through art, photos, journaling or stories.

ADVICE-Live Your Dreams!

I firmly believe that it's never too late to make your dreams come true. This is pretty corny but my high school year book quote was: Don't ever stop loving, don't ever stop believing, don't ever stop dreaming your dreams.
